KU sponsors an opportunity for international students to live and work in a major corporate setting specific to Korea. Students have the opportunity to request for a recommendation from the company that they have interned for. This overseas work experience allows students to earn resume credentials and recommendations for their careers.
The internships will be based primarily in the private-sector's business area. Accepted students can experience working in large corporations' departments related to:
These internships will be based in the above mentioned industrial sectors of multinational corporations in Korea, such as Samsung and LG. The ISC 2013 focuses primarily on providing internships for applicants based on the industrial or government sector of interest, rather than the specific corporation because they are all prominent companies in Korea and around the globe.
Working condition varies depending on each company's policy but Internship is basically offered unpaid.
¡Ü Eligibility
University/college students who are currently enrolled and have attended at least two semesters at the time of application with a minimum GPA 3.0/4.5 or above
Please refer to the online application to apply for an internship. The student must compose a professional resume/CV for the internship of his/her choice and submit this application by the deadline specified below.
Due to the highly competitive nature of the program, not all applicants to the ISC internship program will be guaranteed an internship position. We will notify the accepted students individually via telephone & email on a rolling basis, in respect to the procedures of our commissioned organizations.
We will announce the final results again to all our internship applicants when all of the companies and organizations complete their decisions. (We expect these results to be released by April, 2013.)

Having returned to Korea for the first time in seven years, it was through the ISC internship experience that I was able to gain more knowledge of current Korean culture today. Not only was I able to directly experience where the Korean market stands today but gain more so of an insight that will always remain with me.
Though the ISC internship and the academic part of the program, I felt as if I had actually accomplished something and that there was a real purpose for me to be there. Without the ISC experience, the value of my stay in Korea would have been only half fulfilled.

Working at the National Assembly was certainly the chance of a lifetime for me, especially because I was born and raised in the States. Seeing the inner workings of the Korea parliament really opened my eyes to international trends in politics and on the top of that I met amazing people who I still keep and touch with today. It was definitely a worthwhile!

Through the summer internship at a major bank in Korea, I truly experienced the daily life of a banker working the head office. Surrounded by members of well known consulting companies and bank officials, I witnessed the ongoing interactions that led to important decisions within the bank. Analyzing loan policies and communicating with the officials, I was able to understand the terminology related to loans and the trend of Korean banks. Not only did I have access to such information, but also I was introduced to the culture of the bank employees. The lunch meetings, tours of the head office's surroundings, and rich conversations with the officials led me to feel how Korean bankers live today. Although the duration was one month, I had an invaluable experience in the new environment, and met many caring, interesting people whom I could not have met without this internship.
